Description
Music Hall MMF-9.3 Record Player
The music hall mmf-9.3 turntable, is a two speed, belt driven audiophile turntable employing the unique triple plinth construction originated by music hall.
The distinctive design isolates the critical sound reproducing components: platter, main bearing, tonearm, and cartridge, on the top platform, from the adjustable tip-toe feet and wiring, which are mounted on the bottom platform. The motor and speed controls are isolated on their own vibration damping base and completely decoupled from the turntable.
Sorbothane hemispheres separate each of the three platforms and provide additional suspension and vibration damping. The music hall mmf-9.3 record player comes in a high-gloss piano black lacquer finish and is available with or without cartridge.
Triple-Plinth Design Isolates DC Motor and Speed Controls on Own Base: Music Hall MMF-9.3 Turntable Provides Absorbing Audiophile Sound, Ultra-Quiet Vinyl Playback, Extraordinary Price-to-Performance Value
In the case of the Music Hall MMF-9.3 turntable, three is better than one. Three refers to the distinctive triple-plinth construction that allows this standout analog component to provide absorbing audiophile sound almost entirely free of the playback noise that plagues so many ‘table designs. The fully manual MMF-9.3 features a completely decoupled DC motor with 33RPM and 45RPM speed controls located in the left front corner of the ‘table, cancelling out any potential vibration to the cartridge. Speaking of the latter, an optional Goldring Eroica LX MC model with Gyger II line-contact stylus ($795 value) comes properly aligned and mounted for easy plug-and-play operation. You can also rest assured it will perform to its highest potential, as the Music Hall MMF-9.3 also boasts a pre-mounted carbon-fiber tonearm that delivers excellent stability and tracking – crucial for hearing all the details embedded in vinyl grooves.
